Cabarrus Genealogy Society

Established 1993

Founded on June 8, 1993, the Cabarrus Genealogy Society emerged from the year-long Cabarrus County Bicentennial Celebration in 1992 and merged with the Historic Cabarrus Association on November 30, 2017. With the dedication of many committed members, its mission is to elevate the standards of genealogical research and education in Cabarrus County through various programs, publications, and the preservation of genealogical and historical materials.

Genealogy today goes beyond just collecting names and dates; it’s about sharing your family stories. Noted speaker Judy G. Russell (The Legal Genealogist) emphasizes that if family stories are not documented, they may be lost within three generations. We encourage you to share your stories with us. Please join our Facebook group or contact us to contribute to our journal, The Golden Nugget.
