A one-time or recurring annual gift provides vital support to preserve Cabarrus County’s history and ensure ongoing access to our exhibitions, educational programs, and community events.

Historic Cabarrus Association is committed to building complete, well-documented collections that preserve the stories of our community in context. While every family treasure has meaning, our priority is to accept materials that help us tell complete and connected stories rather than isolated items.

We are primarily seeking:

  • Papers, photographs, and records of notable Cabarrus County individuals, families, and leaders.
  • Materials from local institutions, churches, schools, and civic organizations.
  • Complete or well-documented collections relating to African American history, rural education, the textile industry, community life, and preservation efforts.

Due to limited space and resources, we cannot always accept single items (such as loose magazines, unidentified photographs, or incomplete uniforms) unless they directly support an existing collection.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss the process of donating artifacts to our collection.

Instead of adopting a whole collection, you can adopt an artifact—from a school desk to a textile tool to a community yearbook. Your support ensures it is conserved, catalogued, and interpreted for future generations.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss the process of adopting an artifact in our collection.

Support Historic Cabarrus Association by donating appreciated assets, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. This impactful, tax-wise method ensures your gift goes further in protecting Cabarrus County’s history.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss the process of donating appreciated assets.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows you to support our mission with flexibility and tax benefits, while recommending gifts at times that fit your giving goals.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss Donor-Advised Funds.

If you are 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA is a tax-efficient way to support our mission. It may count toward your required minimum distribution.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss the process of donating Qualified Charitable Distributions.

Include Historic Cabarrus Association in your will, trust, or estate plan to create a legacy. Your gift will help us preserve landmarks like Meadow View School and Red Hill Tavern, while safeguarding the artifacts and stories that define Cabarrus County.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss the process of including HCA in your estate planning.

Tributes & Memorials are a time-honored way to support the Association while celebrating an occasion, remembering a loved one, or recognizing someone special. They are an especially poignant way to highlight the efforts of those preserving and protecting the architectural, historical, and cultural character of Cabarrus County. HCA acknowledges all gifts by mail and notifies all gift recipients of your generosity. For more information, please get in touch with us.

In-kind donations are a great way for the Association to partner with donors to help defray recurring and/or one-time costs for labor or resources. These donations are often associated with sponsorship of activities and events, but can also support day-to-day HCA needs, such as copier paper and/or hardware (computer) needs. For more information, please get in touch with us.
