As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to connect with new people, share knowledge, and make a meaningful impact. We are currently seeking committee members and volunteers to assist with various initiatives, including historic preservation projects, educational programs, fundraising activities, community events, and serving as docents at our Historic Visitors Center.
Volunteers will work directly with historical artifacts and documents dating back to the founding of Cabarrus County, offering a unique hands-on experience that enriches your connection to our past. Your involvement makes a significant difference in our efforts to engage the community and preserve Cabarrus County’s heritage.

Join A Committee
America 250
The Cabarrus County America 250 Committee leads the county’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary. Organized by the Historic Cabarrus Association, this collaborative group brings together community members, educators, and leaders to celebrate local history through events, education, and preservation initiatives. We would love to have you join us!
Finance
The Finance Committee ensures the Historic Cabarrus Association’s fiscal strength and transparency. It oversees budgeting, financial planning, and responsible stewardship of funds, supporting HCA’s mission to preserve and promote Cabarrus County’s history and heritage. Meadow View School Preservation
The Meadow View School Preservation Committee leads efforts to restore and reconstruct Meadow View School, the last known African American “colored school” from the Jim Crow era in Cabarrus County. The committee works to preserve the building’s legacy through research, planning, and community collaboration, ensuring its story of resilience and education endures. We would love to have you join us!
Marketing & Events
The Marketing & Events Committee manages public outreach, promotions, and event planning for the Historic Cabarrus Association. This committee works to increase awareness of HCA’s mission through marketing initiatives, community partnerships, and engaging events that promote local history and heritage.
