Historic Visitors Center

The Historic Cabarrus Association’s Historic Visitors Center is located on Union Street in the heart of downtown Concord, NC. The 1876 Cabarrus County Courthouse was designed by architect George S.H. Appleget and served as a judicial center for Cabarrus County for 100 years. This architectural treasure is a two-and-a-half-story brick building covered in stucco and merges Greek Revival, Italianate, and Second Empire styles that were popular then. The historic Cabarrus County Courthouse is considered one of North Carolina’s finest public buildings of the late 19th century, and its preservation by the Historic Cabarrus Association in the 1970s is one of our crowning achievements.
