Historic Hotel Concord

Completed in 1926, the Hotel Concord is one of downtown Concord’s most iconic landmarks and the largest historic property in Cabarrus County. Designed by New York architect William L. Stoddart in the Beaux-Arts Classical Revival style, the six-story red brick and limestone building originally housed 87 guest rooms and the Concord National Bank.

After decades as a hotel and later as low-income housing, the property was restored in 2018 through a $6.4 million public–private redevelopment led by Rehab Development, the City of Concord, and Cabarrus County. The project transformed the building into The View at Hotel Concord, featuring 40 modern apartments, a restored grand ballroom, and seven retail spaces along Union Street and Cabarrus Avenue.

Today, the Hotel Concord is home to shops, restaurants, and local businesses—an award-winning symbol of Concord’s downtown revitalization and its ongoing commitment to preserving historic architecture while promoting economic growth.
