Curb Motorsports Museum

The Curb Motorsports Museum, housed in the same building as the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, celebrates two of America’s greatest passions—music and racing—brought together through the vision of entrepreneur and record executive Mike Curb. Located at 600 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard in Kannapolis, North Carolina, the museum reflects Curb’s lifelong dedication to both industries.

As the founder of Curb Records, Mike Curb has shaped the sound of American country and pop music, representing legendary artists such as Wynonna Judd, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Hank Williams Jr., and Lyle Lovett. A devoted motorsports enthusiast, he has also owned race cars driven by NASCAR greats, including Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Dale Jarrett, Ron Bouchard, and Johnny Sauter.

The museum brings these two worlds together, showcasing an impressive collection of NASCAR, IndyCar, and modified racers, along with unique memorabilia such as LeAnn Rimes’ first car, a 1995 black Dodge Viper. Visitors can see the #2 car Dale Earnhardt drove to his first Winston Cup Championship, and the #43 car Richard Petty piloted to his 199th win—a companion to the 200th-victory car housed in the Smithsonian Institution.

Blending racing thrills with musical history, the museum’s displays feature gold records, autographed posters, and photographs from some of the biggest names in entertainment. Walls adorned with images of iconic performers, along with race hoods featuring famous musicians, create a one-of-a-kind experience where engines meet entertainment—a tribute to the powerful intersection of speed, sound, and Southern spirit.
