Bost Grist Mill

Step back in time at the Bost Grist Mill, a beautifully restored landmark that has served the people of southern Cabarrus County since the early 1800s. Once a vital source of flour and cornmeal for the community, the mill now invites visitors to experience its rich history through guided tours, special events, and hands-on demonstrations.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Bost Grist Mill still houses its original machinery and authentic artifacts. Guests can watch as corn is ground into fresh cornmeal and grits using the very same stones and techniques employed two centuries ago. Before leaving, be sure to take home a bag of the mill’s Stone Ground Cornmeal or Grits, milled on-site and ready for your kitchen.

Throughout the year, the mill hosts a variety of community events celebrating heritage and craftsmanship, including the popular “Christmas at Bost Grist Mill” and “Touch of Yesterday” festivals. These gatherings bring history to life, showcasing how Cabarrus County residents lived, worked, and celebrated across the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
